The philosophical approach to the discussion brings us to the question of ethics. It would seem that the evolutionist reduces him(her) self to a position of individualistic ethics. That is, whatever he chooses as his standard works for him/her. An atheist friend of mine remembers how he lived before in the reality of how he still thinks. Women and sex are the subjects that come up in every discussion. I have watched as he plies strangers and friends alike with questions about their sex life. However, his actions changed when after he had a sexual relationship with a former high school sweet heart who was married, her husband committed suicide. This really was not a question of fossils but of philosophy.

Each one has the right to choose their own philosophy. Quit blaming others for what you believe and live by your faith. It is only by living it to the end that one can find out if it is right. But we can gain valuable insights by looking into the lives of those who claim to live a certain life style and comparing them with those who actually do.

I agree with you Jason, that Brannon has demonstrated he does not live by what he claims. When he said,” if you really wanted to be educated…but I don’t think you are interested in being educated”, he made a judgment about you that puts him on dangerous ground according to his own beliefs and Jesus’ words in Matt.5:22, even though he did not use the exact words of the passage.

Don’t judge Jesus, however, by Brannon Howse or anyone else. Feel free to judge him by himself. I am sure that you would want the same courtesy.

furthermore i think it is very sad how you give a fair chance to both sides of argument, and ultimately pick a best side based on reason.

Ray is a Christchurch boy…I knew him for a while in the Jesus Freak days. He had NO POWER but plenty of persuasion. He used to harangue an open air preacher I knew before he was saved (who was also way off base), and who cursed him to be an evangelist for the remainder of his life instead of a jumped up LITTLE smartass - it worked - kind of.

When the Pharisees sought to trap Jesus at His own Word, they asked Him - which is the GREATEST commandment. He answered “Love the lord you God with all your being, and the second, which is just like it, love your (nearest) neighbour as your self.” The Pharisees commended Him - but was Jesus rewriting the commandments or were they spiritually illiterate?

The second commandment is not to serve or create idols (like ventriloquist’s dummies). A ventriloquist puts his hand up the dummies ass and manipulates it to make it appear to talk - “Now Dummy, have you obeyed ALL God’s commandments?”

Jesus gave His disciples, and all who would be justifed by faith (and not by works) ONE HOLY COMMANDMENT - that we should love one another, even as He FIRST - ORIGINALLY - FROM THE BEGINNING - A LAMB SLAIN FROM BEFORE THE WORLDS.

The Law is for transgressions until the PROMISE has come, and since He has come, there is no more need of the Law. READ THE BOOK! Most don’t even know it - they just think that they do. 0(:-})

By the way, the second commandment is the other side of the first, and your nearest relative or neighbour is Christ in you.
