Chemicals? As If.

Monday, December 17th, 2007

I object to this use of the word “chemicals”:

The dye, which the farm insists does not contain chemicals, is injected into ordinary chicken eggs a few weeks before Easter. [source]

I understand what they mean, but it’s not what they’re saying. If it doesn’t contain chemicals, it doesn’t exist. To bastardize something Michael Shermer said, if everything is chemicals, nothing is chemicals.

We Done a Christmas Song!

Thursday, December 13th, 2007

Yes, it’s true. The rest of the Beluga Calf crew and I have kicked up some Christmas dust. It’s the first song I’ve recorded that contains no original music. It’s all samples! I feel so cool!

So please take a few minutes to visit Beluga Calf and listen to A Very Beluga Calfmas. Let me know what you think!

I’ve never really listened to Nine Inch Nails, but seeing this is enough for me to buy some of their albums:

Busdriver: Casting Agents and Cowgirls

Wednesday, December 12th, 2007

Busdriver just released the video for Casting Agents and Cowgirls from his album Roadkill Overcoat. I gotta say, it made me smile the whole way through! Please note AntiMC playing his MPC on the floor. How fancy!

[11:31] Filipino Friend: In a matchup of the NFC West’s two top teams, Seattle showed why it’s still the best. The Seahawks came out swinging, going up 24-0 midway through the second quarter. The defense stole the show, intercepting Kurt Warner five times and consistently getting into the backfield. The win clinched the ‘Hawks’ fourth straight division title and guaranteed at least one home playoff game in January. Patrick Kerney had three sacks. It was his third such performance in four games.

Someone Owns That Book!

Tuesday, December 11th, 2007

Wow!! Leslie P. in Louisiana just sent me this AMAZING photo of her bookshelf on which sits The Meaning of Life!

My Favorite Book

And she also eats the book!

Eating of Life

Now she knows it isn’t my favorite book! Since it’s the holidays!

Leslie also has this to say:

I would just like to add that though I have not read the book, I do enjoy the pictures. I also like that it is bright and pretty. I like bright and pretty things.

I would also like to add that I am happy that once again I can waste my time at work reading your posts at jeffthefish.com. Thank you for giving me more resources to waste time on. :)

Well Hell’s bells. I feel like a very tiny Morgan Freeman right now.  Thanks, Leslie!

And if anyone else has pictures of themselves with this book, please send them to jeffthefish at gmail.com and I will put them up!
